Why I Wrote This Guide
A Stylish Timeline-Based Presentation Script (or note). Image from Wikimedia

Most of presentations are not fully scripted - that’s the best kind of presentation.

So why the hell I wrote this guide to presentation scripts? Because presentation is scripted, but not fully scripted. Presentation is designed, it goes through brainstorming, adding content, and still much more processes.

How to Make a Presentation Script

Well, there are steps to make a presentation script:
1. Decide your presentation theme.
2. Divide it into subtopics (less is better).
3. Create presentation slides (Powerpoint, Prezi, etc.).
4. Then create your presentation script - it usually contains subtopics, what the subtopic talking about, and things you need to remember.

For example, John made a presentation. He decided his theme, divided it into subtopics, and created presentation slides. He then wrote his list of slides’ title, and what he needs to tell in each slides in exact bullet points in a piece of paper a.k.a small note. Some great speakers even don’t need to write his “what I need to tell”, because he is already get used to his presentation - maybe he’s already presented it zillion times.

Tips to NOT to Bring any "Small Notes"

I personally not recommend you to bring a note when you’re presenting something. So I made few tips for you so you don’t need to bring a note when you’re presenting, here they are:
1. Don’t choose a very wide topic - you will need to make a very long presentation with much slides if you do. And long presentation with much slides is not easy to remember.
2. Choose few unique subtopics. Unique subtopics are usually difficult to think when you are not in your “creative” shape. For example, rather than choosing “what cigarettes do to your health” subtopic, it’s better to choose “here are some real stories of people who are dying because of cigarettes”. Get the point?
3. Tell your own story. If you are highly creative person, you can relate your own life story with your presentation. Your own life story is usually remarkable for you, and easy to remember. Well, you don’t need to bring a note to tell someone about your real experience, right?

Okay, if you are a first-time learner, it’s okay to bring a note with you. Just keep practicing, and you will be good.
